Horse with a tooth missing, should you pull the opposite one or just keep floating more often?

How old is he? Maybe just loosing his caps. my mare kicked 2 teeth from my gelding mouth when he was 3. They grew back just fine.

Just make sure you stay on schedule to float his teeth every 6 months. No need to pull a perfectly good tooth.
Reply:Floating it very frequently is probably OK in most cases. They used to pull the opposite tooth back in the "old days" but I don't think that's generally done too often anymore.
Reply:A vet with experience in equine dentistry can help prevent any problems that may occur by maintaining a routine floating schedule.

As someone else said, if it is a young horse you are dealing with, it may be losing its "baby teeth."
Reply:You should speak to you vet or equine dental technician as the answer will vary from horse to horse.
