Are horses born with teeth?

i was just wondering.

Are horses born with teeth?
NAH........................................
Reply:Yes, like all newborn mammals they are born with "milk teeth" which are gradually replaced with permanent teeth as they get older. Foals deciduous teeth erupt from birth and are usually replaced by all adult teeth at around four years of age. Hey Monica all mammals including humans ARE born with milk teeth which are present IN THE GUMS even if they havnt erupted as yet.
Reply:yes of course!!!!!!
Reply:Most foals(baby horses) are born WITHOUT teeth but they do come in soon after birth.

Oh and, chooklady, Almost all MAMALES are born WITHOUT teeth!
Reply:yeasssssssss
Reply:Yeah, like all mamals, they are borne with teeth. But horses are mainly milk teeth.
Reply:Yes they are born with teeth.
Reply:About 13-32% of all horses also are born with wolf teeth, with most of those having only one or two. They are equally common in male and female horses and much more likely to be on the upper jaw.
Reply:no. they start growing after a two weeks
Reply:My gelding was born WITHOUT teeth and his milk teeth grew in roughly between 3 to 4 weeks.

If the incisors are milk or temporary teeth and only the two central ones have erupted, you know that the foal is up to four weeks old.

Some foals are born with two upper/lower milk teeth or partial erupted.

If the two lateral ones have also erupted next to them, you know the foal is roughly 4 to 6 weeks old. If the two corner incisors ahve erupted, the weanling is six to nine months old or older. Two and half, permanet central incisors erupt. Tree and half usually the permanent lateral incisors appear and finally at four or so, permanent corner inccisors have fully erupted. Erupting, it is customary for the incisors to push out the temporary teeth.

Therefore, you can tell teeth grow rapidly and the temporary teeth (that arew hiter,s maller and cup shaped) will be replaced with permanent ones (that are larger, off white and more rectangular).
Reply:Yes they have small baby teeth when they are born, and they become permanant as they grow older.
Reply:This is kind of a confusing question, because i guess you could say horses technically are born with teeth, but you don't see them for a few weeks. o.O I think people are getting a bit confused.

I think you meant can you see the teeth when they're born. In this case, no you can't. All there is is gum. They don't have teeth yet so they don't hurt their mother when they milk from her. This is the case for all mammals, including people.
Reply:Horses are like humans they are born without teeth but unlike humans horse teeth grow in about 3-4 weeks.
Reply:foals aren't born with them but they begin growning milk teeth very soon.
Reply:No they are not born with Teeth

but nursing teeth will grown in verry soon
Reply:Yup
Reply:yes
