Can we brush horses teeth? and if so where do we get toothbrush?

I'm sure you could... I haven't heard where or how... But if you talk to your local vet maybe he/she would have an idea on where you could pick something like that up.. good luck!

Give it a go.

I'd try using a toilet brush first before splashing out.......

Now flossing might cause some difficulties.....
Reply:you can't brush your horses teeth the vet will float them and that means he will file the teeth down so the horse can eat.there is treats that might help keep the teeth clean check your local farm store or call your vet good luck
Reply:no. there are treats that are made with something in it that scrapes the tartar build up off their teeth. kind of like that one type of dog treats.
Reply:It's not necessary to brush a horses teeth as they produce a saliva fluid that cleans their teeth when chewing. What is important is that you should have your veterinarian "float" or "file" your horses teeth once a year minimum in order to keep them from becoming too sharp. When a horses teeth become too sharp it becomes painful to chew and they refuse to eat properly.
Reply:Sure you can. I do sometimes...just for fun, of course. I got my horse some anise-flavored natural toothpaste (safe to swallow), and I just used a regular toothbrush to clean his front teeth. He actually enjoys it.

A friend of mine had her mare break a tooth some years ago, and the gal decided to brush it to keep it clean. The vet was impressed that it didn't get infected.

But no, most people do not brush their horses' teeth.
Reply:u dont need to brush horses teeth. but if u used safe tooth paste im sure u could give it a try for fun. but its not important like it is for us.
