Irish slang - horse?

I was just chatting to my mate on msn. He moved to Ireland a year or two ago, and I think he's calling me 'horse'. For example, he ended the conversation on "be good horse".


Is that some slang reference for English person? You know, with the whole posh looking thing with buck teeth.





It had better not be lol, I'm more Irish than him! All my blood is Irish, he's only half.

i have lived in ireland all my life and have never heard this slang, maybe he made it up ask what he means

Reply:It's just a slang phrase.... for like friend or lover type thing. You wouldn't really say it to anyone who wasn't special to you.

Reply:Don't know about the horse, but it reminds me of a story of three Irish brothers who upon leaving to go their separate ways in the world, agreed that every Friday at 4 o' clock, wherever they were, they would go to the pub and drink a beer for themselves and one for each of the other brothers. After settling in Boston, one brother, after explaining the ritual to the local bartender, showed up every Friday at 4 and fulfilled his promise for about 5 years. Then one day, he showed up and ordered two beers instead of the usual 3. The concerned barkeep, thinking one brother must have died, offer his condolances. "Oh no, ye got it all wrong friend. Me brothers are fine. It's me wifey. She got religion and made me quit drinkin', but I'm holdin' up the end for me brothers!!" peace
